Believe the Truth

Time after time I find myself needing to remember who I am. “I am a child of the king;” “I am made in the image of God;” “I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and no one can take that away.”  You see, what Jesus has done for us is so magnificent that it feels like I could never be worthy of that.

Psalm 15:1-2 says, “O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill?  He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart.”

David wrote this psalm.  He has an interesting life story in which he would intersect and fall away from the Lord.  He was anointed to be a king at a young age and that put him on a journey of running from the wicked king Saul, who feared being replaced.  David didn’t falter in his desire to follow God’s will and he did not doubt God’s plan to elevate him to kingship.

God is faithful and he doesn’t break his promises, but Satan will try to convince you otherwise.  You’ll hear thoughts of being all alone, of being abandoned and worse.  That’s the enemy seeking to have a foothold in your life.  To respond to this, remember to speak truth to yourself from the Bible.  God does love you.  God does have a plan and a purpose for your life.

Prayer: Father we ask you to keep our mind on Your truth.  Lift us up, give us the strength to persevere, fighting the good fight.  Amen.
